Course Description
The Hill to Harbour showcases Newcastle's spectacular coastline with a point-to-point course that's as scenic as it is rewarding. The signature 12km event begins at iconic Bar Beach, following the stunning harbour foreshore before finishing at Pat Jordan Oval in Carrington. Runners enjoy breathtaking ocean views, harbour vistas, and the energetic atmosphere of Newcastle's waterfront. The 6km Halfa option starts at The Station, offering a shorter but equally scenic coastal challenge. Both courses are predominantly flat to gently undulating on sealed paths and roads, making them accessible whilst still providing a genuine fitness test. The famous Carrington finish line atmosphere is the perfect reward after your harbour-side adventure.

Weather & What to Pack
Late March in Newcastle typically offers mild to warm autumn conditions, ideal for running. Expect temperatures between 18-25°C with moderate humidity and generally settled weather. The coastal location can bring sea breezes which help keep runners cool. However, early morning starts may be cooler, so bring a disposable layer for the start line. Sun protection is essential - apply sunscreen before the race and wear a cap or visor. The exposed coastal route offers limited shade, so stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to the event.
