Event Details
Course Description
The routes run on quiet country lanes and vineyard access roads between the King Valley wineries, and they are flat and fast. The half marathon goes from Brown Brothers out past John Gehrig Wines to Sam Miranda and back; the 10km links Sam Miranda and Brown Brothers; the 5km loops from Brown Brothers to Milawa Cheese and back. Surface is mostly sealed lane with some gravel - road shoes are fine. Everything starts in the early evening so you finish in the cool, at the Brown Brothers cellar door.
Getting There
Brown Brothers is at Milawa in the King Valley, about 3 hours north-east of Melbourne and 20 minutes off the Hume Freeway at Wangaratta. Drive - there is parking at the winery. Milawa has accommodation and it books out for the event, so plan ahead if you want to stay and enjoy the party.

Weather & What to Pack
Late February in the King Valley is warm summer - often the high 20s in the afternoon - but the races start at 5:45-6:00pm, so you run into the evening as it cools. It can still be 20-25C at the start; carry fluid and expect a warm first few kilometres.
