Course Description

Run for Respect takes participants on a scenic loop around the historic Princes Park in Carlton North, finishing with a memorable run onto the hallowed turf of IKON Park, home of the Carlton Blues. The flat, fast course follows sealed pathways through the beautiful inner-city parkland, offering tree-lined sections and open spaces. The route is ideal for runners of all abilities, from competitive athletes chasing personal bests to families enjoying a community walk. The highlight is crossing the finish line on the same ground where AFL legends have made history, with current and former Carlton players cheering you home. All distances start and finish at IKON Park on Royal Parade.

Weather & What to Pack

Early February in Melbourne typically brings warm summer conditions with temperatures ranging from 14-26°C. Expect warm to hot conditions, particularly if racing in the late morning. The start time will help determine heat exposure, but be prepared for sun and minimal shade on sections of the course. Wear light, breathable running gear in light colours, apply sunscreen, and bring a hat for before and after your race. Hydration is crucial - drink well in the days leading up to the event and take advantage of on-course water stations during your run.
