Starting and finishing at the reserve, runners and walkers enjoy the coastal atmosphere of Warrnambool's popular waterfront precinct. The course is designed to be accessible and fun, making it ideal for families and those getting back into running after the festive season. With separate starts for walking and running categories, participants can choose their challenge level whilst enjoying the relaxed, community atmosphere that makes this series special.
Getting There
Jetty Flat Reserve is located on Price Street in central Warrnambool, easily accessible from the Princes Highway. Street parking is typically available around the reserve and nearby waterfront areas. The venue is within walking distance of the town centre. Arrive by 5:00 PM for on-the-day registrations, which open from this time. Cash or EFTPOS payments are accepted. Public transport options include local bus services stopping near the CBD, a short walk from the reserve.
Weather & What to Pack
Early January in Warrnambool typically brings warm summer conditions with temperatures ranging from 14°C to 24°C. Evening races starting at 5:45-6:00 PM benefit from cooler conditions as the sun begins to set, though it will still be warm. Being on Victoria's south-western coast, expect some coastal breeze which can provide welcome relief. Wear light, breathable running gear and apply sunscreen before the race. Bring water for hydration, though the short distances mean minimal fluid requirements. Check the forecast as coastal weather can change quickly.
