Course Description

The 16.1 km King of the Mountain course is a single‑loop that starts and finishes at Helena Valley Primary School. Runners head anticlockwise up the north side of the valley, tackling several steep ascents and descents that live up to the race name. Mid‑loop the route detours south of Helena Valley Road before crossing back over a creek on the return leg. The terrain is mixed trail with occasional sealed sections, and there is no water provision on‑course, so participants must carry their own hydration. After the finish, a cup of hot soup is offered to warm up cold‑weather runners.
