Course Description

The Border Triathlon Squad’s Rutherglen event flips the classic format: athletes start with a town‑run on quiet streets, transition to a bike leg on mixed road routes that showcase the scenic Murray River valley and historic vineyards, and finish with a continuous swim in the town’s 33‑metre pool – swum in reverse to meet the distance. The course is flat to gently rolling, suitable for all abilities, and offers plenty of photo‑ops of Rutherglen’s charming streets and surrounding countryside.

Getting There

The triathlon is centred around the local pool and surrounding streets in Rutherglen, a small town in north‑eastern Victoria. Parking and public‑transport details are not listed on the event page, so please visit the organiser’s website for the latest information on parking facilities and any bus or train options. Aim to arrive early to allow time for bike checks and the pre‑race briefing.
