Course Description
The 10km Bardon Bash follows a mostly sealed circuit around Bardon Park, starting and finishing at the park’s main entrance on Railway Parade. Runners head east along the park’s perimeter road, enjoying tree‑lined avenues and views of the Swan River. The route includes a gentle rise near the park’s north‑west corner before descending back to the flat finish. The course is fully on road, making it suitable for all shoe types, and is marked with clear signage and timing mats at the start/finish. With a looped layout, participants can gauge their pace and enjoy the park’s open grass areas and the historic Maylands railway bridge.
Getting There
Bardon Park is situated in the Maylands suburb of Perth, just a short walk from Maylands train station and several local bus stops. Parking is available on nearby streets, but spaces can fill quickly on race day. For exact directions, public‑transport options and parking details, please visit the official MAWA website and allow extra time to check‑in before the start.
Weather & What to Pack
April in Perth brings warm spring days with average highs around 26 °C and cool evenings dropping to about 14 °C. Expect mostly clear skies, though occasional light showers contribute to the region’s 731 mm annual rainfall. Runners should dress in breathable, moisture‑wicking layers for the daytime heat, bring a light jacket for the cooler evening, and stay hydrated with water or electrolyte drinks. A hat and sunscreen are advisable for sunny stretches.
