Course Description

The 8km Mountain to Surf starts in Lorne township and climbs the first 2km through the lush Otway forest ranges. After the ascent you reach the St George River track, where the route follows the riverbank past native bush before opening up to spectacular views of the Southern Ocean. The loop returns via the iconic Lorne Pier and cliff track, finishing at the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club. Water stations and first‑aid points are positioned along the course, and runners start in 2‑minute waves of about 120 participants.
