Course Description

Starting at Slalom Plaza in Falls Creek, the Alpine Challenge courses wind through the Victorian Alps, traversing six major climbs – Mt Feathertop, Mt Hotham, Mt McKay, Spion Kopje, Mt Nelse and Victoria’s highest summit, Mt Bogong. The routes combine rugged alpine ridgelines, forest tracks and open tundra, offering spectacular views and technical sections. The 100‑mile distance features about 7,600 m of ascent and descent, while shorter distances follow portions of the same trail network. Aid stations are positioned at key points, and the terrain remains primarily natural trail with occasional snow‑covered sections in early April.
