Event Details
Course Description
The race starts at the Western Plantation carpark and follows a well‑marked loop through towering pines, open grasslands and rocky ridges. Shorter distances (2km, 5km) stay on easy forest paths, while the 10km adds a few gentle climbs. The 21km, 42km and 50km routes extend the loop, taking runners deeper into the park with steeper sections and occasional creek crossings, before looping back for a night‑time finish under head‑torch lighting. Aid stations are positioned every 5km, providing water, electrolytes and snack options. The course is designed to showcase the natural beauty of the You Yangs while remaining safe and supported.
Getting There
From Melbourne, take the M1 towards Geelong and exit at the Little River turn‑off (Sandy Creek Rd). Follow signs to the Western Plantation carpark (390 Sandy Creek Rd). Parking is free on‑site; we recommend arriving at least 45 minutes before your start time to allow for check‑in and gear prep. Public transport is limited – the nearest train is at Lara Station, followed by a short taxi ride.
