Event Details
Course Description
The race starts with a dip in the pristine Lake Leschenaultia, offering calm freshwater for the swim leg. From there athletes transition onto purpose‑built mountain‑bike trails that wind through native bushland, featuring short climbs and technical single‑track sections. The run follows the Lake Loop trail, a mix of shaded forest paths and open lakeside tracks, delivering both scenic views and gentle elevation changes. Both short and long formats are available, allowing participants to select a distance that matches their fitness and experience level.
Getting There
Lake Leschenaultia is accessed via the Great Eastern Highway (A2) from Perth, then turn onto Leschenault Road and follow signs to the lake car park. Parking is free on‑site with limited spaces, so arrive early. The nearest Transperth bus stop is at Mundaring, about 5 km away; a taxi or rideshare from there is recommended. Aim to be at the start line at least 45 minutes before the first wave.
Weather & What to Pack
November is spring in Western Australia, bringing mild to warm days with average highs of 22‑26 °C and lows around 13‑15 °C. Expect plenty of sunshine, low humidity and occasional light showers. Dress in layers – a quick‑dry swim cap, a breathable wetsuit or swim shirt, and a lightweight, UV‑protective jersey for the bike. Bring a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle; conditions are comfortable but hydration remains important.
