Event Details
Course Description
All races start and finish at Tom Simpson Park, Mullaloo Beach, where the coastal shared path hugs the Indian Ocean. The course is undulating, featuring short but sharp inclines that add a challenge to the longer distances. The 2 km is a single north‑bound out‑and‑back loop, the 5 km follows a similar out‑and‑back route, while the 10 km consists of two north‑bound laps. Half‑marathon, 32 km “Not the Mara” and marathon runners complete two, three and four full south‑to‑north laps respectively, each lap returning to the park via the same scenic route. Expect sea breezes, beach views and well‑marked timing points throughout.
Getting There
The festival is held at Tom Simpson Park on Mullaloo Beach, a northern coastal suburb of Perth. For detailed parking information, public transport options and directions, please visit the official website or contact the event organisers. Arriving early to allow time for bib collection and warm‑up is recommended.
Weather & What to Pack
September is spring in Western Australia, bringing mild temperatures typically between 15 °C and 22 °C with gentle sea breezes along the coast. Expect sunny to partly‑cloudy skies and low humidity. Dress in light, breathable layers, bring a hat or sunglasses for sun protection, and stay hydrated with water or electrolyte drinks, especially for the longer distances.
