Course Description
The race starts at Elizabeth Quay on the Swan River foreshore, heading east along the riverbank before looping through the heart of Perth’s CBD. Runners pass iconic landmarks such as the Perth Mint, the Bell Tower and the historic Perth railway station, then return via the scenic Esplanade Reserve. The course is entirely on sealed roads and footpaths, offering a flat, fast surface with plenty of cheering crowds, water stations and charity checkpoints. The 12km and 3km routes follow the same scenic riverside corridor, making the event accessible for all ability levels while showcasing the city’s waterfront beauty.
Getting There
The start line is at Elizabeth Quay on the Swan River foreshore. Free parking is available at the Esplanade Reserve car park (pay‑and‑display). Public transport options include Perth Train Station (a 5‑minute walk) and Transperth bus routes 5, 6, 16 and 17. We recommend arriving at least one hour before the start to collect your bib and warm up.
Weather & What to Pack
May is autumn in Perth. Expect daytime highs around 22 °C and overnight lows near 10 °C, with low humidity and occasional light showers (annual rainfall ~731 mm). Dress in layers – a light long‑sleeve top, a breathable jacket for early morning chill, and a hat or visor for sun. Bring a water bottle, but you’ll also find hydration stations along the course.
