Event Details
Course Description
The Red Ribbon Run follows a looped circuit around Palms Lawn in Albert Park. Runners can complete one lap (4 km), two laps (7.7 km) or three laps (11.5 km). The route combines smooth bitumen with gentle gravel sections, skirting the lake and parkland, offering plenty of shade and open views. The course is untimed, wheelchair‑friendly where conditions allow, and designed for a relaxed, community‑focused experience. Spectators and volunteers create a lively atmosphere at the start village, with refreshments and information stalls.
Getting There
Palms Lawn is in Albert Park, just 4 km south of Melbourne CBD. Take tram 19 to Walker St/Stop 16 and walk 3 minutes, or catch the Upfield line to Royal Park Station (13‑minute walk). Bus 123 also stops at Walker St/Stop 16. Free and metered parking is available on The Avenue, with limited spaces near Princes Park. Arrive early to allow time for parking and bib collection.
Weather & What to Pack
Late November is spring in Victoria, with mild daytime temperatures typically ranging from 15 °C to 22 °C and occasional sunshine mixed with light showers. Expect moderate humidity and comfortable conditions for running. Dress in layers – a light long‑sleeve or t‑shirt, a breathable jacket for any chill, and a hat or sunglasses for sun. Stay hydrated, but you likely won’t need heavy water supplies.
