Getting There

Wamboin Community Hall is located approximately 30km east of Canberra in the rural township of Wamboin. Access via Sutton Road from the Federal Highway. Parking is available at the community hall and surrounding areas. Given the rural location, a private vehicle is essential as public transport options are not available. Arrive at least 45 minutes before your race start to allow time for parking, registration check-in, and warm-up.

Weather & What to Pack

June is mid-winter in NSW, with Wamboin experiencing cool to cold conditions. Expect morning temperatures between 0-8°C, possibly reaching 10-14°C by midday. The area can experience frost, fog, and occasional rain. Despite the cold start, you'll warm up quickly on the climbs. Dress in layers with thermal base layers, gloves, and a beanie for the start. The forested trails provide some wind protection. While winter means less extreme heat, you'll still need hydration given the challenging elevation profile.
