Course Description

The courses start on Metung Road outside the local pharmacy and wind through the charming streets of Metung, past the bakery and along the lakeside promenade. The 10km route loops past Shaving Point, Beaches Marina and the grassy tracks of Kings Cove Estate, offering a mix of sealed roads, boardwalks and gentle hill climbs. The 5km courses follow a similar scenic loop with a shorter distance, while the Kids Colour Dash adds a fun, colour‑splashed sprint around the town centre. All routes are flat to mildly undulating, suitable for all abilities.

Getting There

Metung is 315 km east of Melbourne via the Princes Highway (M1) and Bairnsdale‑Metung Road. Free parking is available at the Metung Primary School car park and nearby town‑centre bays (usually free). The town is served by V/Line coach services from Bairnsdale; the nearest train station is Bairnsdale (about 30 km north). Arrive by 8:00 AM to allow time for check‑in and the warm‑up on the Village Green.

Weather & What to Pack

November in Victoria is spring, with mild to warm days. Expect average highs around 19 °C and lows near 10 °C, occasional light showers and plenty of sunshine. Dress in layers – a light long‑sleeve shirt, breathable shorts and a hat are ideal. Bring a water bottle and a light waterproof jacket in case of a quick rain shower.

What should I bring on race day?

Bring your race bib, a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, and for the Kids Colour Dash, wear old white clothing and optional goggles to protect eyes from colour powder.

Yes – a secure bag drop is set up at the Metung Primary School car park. Arrive early to tag your items.

Are there any age restrictions?
