Expect karri forest, granite headlands, rugged coastline and beach running, with buses linking each start/finish and full on-course support.

Getting There

Run Bibbulmun is based in Denmark, in WA's Great Southern region. Competitor registration and the event briefing are held at the Denmark Football Club on the Thursday before racing starts. Each stage is point-to-point: runners without a support crew are encouraged to purchase optional bus transfers ($69pp) to reach each day's start line, leaving their car at the finish. Accommodation is arranged independently in Denmark.

Weather & What to Pack

October is late spring in WA's Great Southern region, with cool mornings and mild afternoons – expect daytime highs around 18–20°C and overnight lows near 8–10°C. The organiser's own notes warn conditions can turn wet, cold and windy with little notice, and the race proceeds regardless of weather. Runners should carry the mandatory waterproof jacket and thermal layers at all times, use sunscreen for exposed coastal sections, and stay well hydrated across each multi-hour stage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in my entry fee?

Serviced checkpoints with hydration and nutrition on course, coordinated social functions, a professional medical team, detailed event briefing information and professional electronic timing and results.

What are the cut-off times?

Day 1 (Long Course): depart WP1 (17km) within 3hrs of your start. Day 2 (Long Course): depart WP1 (10km) within 2h15 of your start. Day 3 (Long Course): depart WP1 (10km) within 2h15 and WP3 (24km) within 4h30 of your start. Missing a cut-off means you're taken to the finish and become unranked for that stage, but can continue on subsequent days.

What mandatory gear must I carry?

A waterproof jacket with hood, a long-sleeve thermal top, a beanie, a snake bite bandage, a first aid kit, a space blanket, a whistle, at least 1 litre of water capacity, and a head torch bright enough to light 50m ahead.

How do I get to the start line each day?

If you have a support crew, they drive you to each day's start. If not, Rapid Ascent recommends purchasing the optional bus transfer ($69 per person): you leave your car at the finish line and a coach takes you to the start.

Can I enter just one stage instead of the full 3-day event?

Yes. Single-stage entries are available for both the Karri Long Course ($346 standard) and Tingle Short Course ($298 standard), as well as the full 3-stage packages.
