Course Description

The marathon follows the Munda Biddi Trail from Goldmine Hill near North Dandalup, winding through towering karri forests, creek crossings and open bushland before finishing in Dwellingup. Runners face about 925 m of ascent and 775 m of descent over 46 km, with two well‑marked aid stations at 23 km and 36 km offering water, sports drinks and fruit. The half‑marathon covers roughly 23.3 km with 340 m climb and 360 m descent, sharing the same scenic route. Fluorescent pink tape and clear arrows keep the course easy to follow, while early start times mean cooler morning conditions.

Getting There

Check‑in begins at North Dandalup Memorial Hall (South West Hwy). Shuttle buses from the hall take runners to Goldmine Hill (marathon) and Nth Spur Rd (half). Parking is plentiful at both start and finish; limited bays north of the hall are reserved for volunteers, so park south of the railway line at the finish. For detailed transport options and exact arrival recommendations, visit the official race website.

Weather & What to Pack

December in Western Australia is summer – expect warm to hot days with temperatures typically ranging from 25 °C to 35 °C, low humidity and plenty of sunshine. Early‑morning starts help avoid the peak heat, but bring a hat, sunscreen and lightweight, breathable clothing. Carry ample water and consider electrolyte drinks to stay hydrated throughout the race.
