Weather & What to Pack

May in Townsville typically offers ideal running conditions with warm temperatures ranging from 16-27°C. The 7:00 AM start ensures cooler morning conditions before the tropical heat builds. Expect mild humidity levels and generally clear skies, though occasional showers are possible during North Queensland's transitional season. Wear lightweight, breathable running gear and apply sunscreen. Bring a hat or visor for sun protection. Hydration is important even in cooler months, so utilise the water station at Aplins Weir and consider carrying your own water bottle.
