Course Description
The flagship Hell of the West (HOTW) is a 102 km long‑course triathlon featuring a 2 km river swim in the mighty Macintyre, an 80 km flat bike ride across the open country roads surrounding Goondiwindi, and a 20 km run that winds through the heart of the town. The swim showcases the river’s natural beauty, while the bike leg offers uninterrupted, straight‑away sections that test endurance. The run finishes on town streets, giving athletes a cheering crowd and a scenic finish. The course is fully road‑based, with aid stations on the bike and run legs providing water, ice and nutrition. It’s a challenging but rewarding race for seasoned triathletes.
