Weather & What to Pack
Late August in the NSW Mid North Coast region typically brings mild to cool conditions, perfect for trail running. Expect daytime temperatures between 12-20°C, with mornings potentially quite crisp. The forest canopy provides natural shade and shelter, though conditions can be cooler under the tree cover. Dress in layers you can remove as you warm up, and don't underestimate the Australian winter sun - sunscreen is still recommended for exposed sections. Pack a warm layer for after your run. The trails can be slightly damp or muddy after rain, so trail shoes with good grip are essential. Hydration remains important even in cooler weather.
