Quick Facts
Getting There
Barnard Park is located on the Busselton Foreshore, easily accessible from Queen Street in central Busselton. Free parking is available along the foreshore and nearby streets, though arrive early on race day as spaces fill quickly. Busselton is approximately 220km south of Perth via the Forrest Highway (2.5 hour drive). For those travelling from Perth, consider carpooling or arriving the day before. Public transport options are limited, so driving is recommended. Athletes in Sunday events must attend bike racking on Saturday evening, so plan to be in Busselton for the full weekend.
Weather & What to Pack
May in Busselton brings mild autumn conditions with average temperatures ranging from 12-22°C. Early morning starts can be quite cool, especially during the swim, which is why wetsuits are often mandatory for this event. Expect crisp mornings warming to pleasant afternoons, with occasional light rain possible. The swim water temperature typically sits around 18-20°C. Pack layers for transition areas, sunscreen for the bike and run legs, and prepare for potential wind on the coastal sections. The mild temperatures make for excellent racing conditions, though humidity is generally low requiring consistent hydration throughout your race.

Do I need to bring a wetsuit?
Yes, wetsuits are typically mandatory for the May event due to water temperatures. Athletes competing in the Busselton 50, Busselton 100 Triathlon, and Busselton Aquabike must bring a wetsuit. The event has been wetsuit mandatory in previous years, so ensure you have yours on race day.
When do I need to arrive for race weekend?
For Saturday events (Busselton 5 and 25), arrive Saturday morning.
