Course Description

The race kicks off with an open‑water swim off the east side of Altona Pier – 750 m for Sprint, 400 m for Enticer or 300 m for Dash – navigating buoys around the bay. Cyclists then tackle the Esplanade and Beach Street, crossing Kororoit Creek on a 6 km loop (Dash) or 12 km (Enticer) and three 6 km laps for Sprint (total 18 km). Runners finish on the Altona foreshore path, looping 2 km (Dash), 3 km (Enticer) or 5 km (Sprint) with stunning views of Port Phillip Bay. The course is flat, fast and family‑friendly, with clear signage and support stations.

Getting There

The event is held at the Altona Beach foreshore, adjacent to the Altona Surf Life Saving Club on the corner of Esplanade and Pier Street. Parking and public‑transport details are not listed on the race page – please check the official website for the latest information. Arrive early to allow time for registration (opens about an hour before the 06:30 start) and to set up your transition area.

Weather & What to Pack

November is spring in Victoria, with mild to warm days (average 12‑22 °C) and occasional breezes off Port Phillip Bay. Expect partly sunny skies and low humidity. Dress in layers – a wetsuit is optional for the 300‑750 m swim, but a light jacket for the early start can help. Stay hydrated and bring a water bottle for the bike and run legs.
