About This Event
Noosa Triathlon event, part of Australia's iconic triathlon calendar. World-famous course through the stunning Noosa region.
Course Description
The Noosa Run Swim Run offers a classic beach aquathon experience along the pristine shores of Main Beach. Competitors tackle a challenging run-swim-run format, with the sandy beach adding resistance to both running legs. The sheltered, warm waters of Laguna Bay provide ideal swimming conditions between the two beach runs. The junior course features a compact 500m-200m-500m layout, while the open category extends to 1.5km-750m-1.5km. Athletes enjoy stunning coastal views throughout, with the iconic Noosa headland as a backdrop. The flat beach terrain is accessible but demanding, requiring transition between running on sand and ocean swimming. This mid-week event kicks off the legendary Noosa Triathlon Festival week with an all-action race suitable for school teams and experienced multisport athletes alike.

Weather & What to Pack
Late October in Noosa typically brings warm spring conditions with average temperatures ranging from 18-26°C. Expect pleasant morning conditions at race start, though humidity can be moderate to high. The early 6:30-7:00 AM start times help avoid the midday heat. Ocean water temperatures are comfortably warm (around 21-23°C). Sun protection is essential—apply sunscreen before the race and wear a cap during the run legs. Hydration is important despite the cooler morning start; drink well in the hours before racing and rehydrate immediately after finishing.
