    parkrun questions

    What is parkrun?

parkrun is a free, timed 5km walk, jog or run held every Saturday morning in parks and on foreshores around Australia. It's organised by volunteers, and everyone from first-timers to club runners takes part.

    What time does parkrun start?

Every Saturday morning, but the start time varies by event and state, and some events change it with the seasons. Check the event's own page before you go.

    How far is parkrun?

Always 5km. junior parkrun, for children aged 4 to 14, is 2km on Sunday mornings.

    Does parkrun cost anything?

No, it's free. You register once on the parkrun website and bring your barcode to every event so you get a time.

    Can I walk parkrun?

Yes. Walkers are welcome at every event, and each one has a tail walker so nobody finishes last. Children under 11 must stay within arm's reach of an adult.
