Participants should aim to arrive by 5:30am for Sunday kit collection and bike check-in, or attend Saturday collection between 12pm-2pm to avoid race morning congestion.

Weather & What to Pack

Early February in Melbourne brings summer warmth with average temperatures ranging from 15-26°C. Race start times from 6:45am mean cooler morning conditions, though expect warming throughout the event. Port Phillip Bay waters are typically 18-21°C at this time of year. Sun protection is essential - apply sunscreen before the swim and reapply in transition if possible. The coastal location can bring sea breezes which provide relief on the run but may create chop in the swim. Start hydrating well before race day, and ensure you drink at aid stations, especially for Olympic distance competitors finishing mid-morning when temperatures peak.
